CAP Functional Specialty Tracks . . .

The functional specialty is an area where you serve in an administrative or operational role as a member of the squadron.  As a Senior Member you should select a specialty (or specialties) which interest you and discuss the opportunities to serve in these areas with your Unit Commander.

  • 204 - Senior Program Officer
  • 205 - Administrative Officer
  • 206 - Logistics Officer
  • 210 - Flight Operations Officer
  • 211 - Operations Officer
  • 212 - Standardization/Evaluation Officer
  • 213 - Emergency Services Officer
  • 214 - Communications Officer
  • 215 - Aerospace Education Officer
  • 216 - Cadet Programs Officer
  • 217 - Safety Officer
  • 218 - Plans & Programs Officer
  • 219 - Legal Officer  (Specialty Code Only - There is no study guide.)
  • 220 - Medical Officer  (Specialty Code Only - There is no study guide.)
  • 221 - Chaplain
  • 222 - Commanding Officer  (Specialty Code Only - There is no study guide.)
  • 223 - Historian
  • 225 - Moral Leadership Officer
  • 226 - Recruiting & Retention Officer
  • 227 - Information Technology Officer
The specialty tracks have three levels of achievement, Technician, Senior and Master. Each level requires increasing proficiency and accomplishment, with the duties and requirements specified in the Specialty Track Study Guide for that specialty. See your Unit Commander or Training Officer for information.
