MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - A 2007 graduate of Siegel High School in Murfreesboro died
over the weekend in Afghanistan. Army Spc. Corey Kowall, 20, was killed Sunday
when the vehicle he was in was hit by an explosive device and overturned.
Kowall's father, C.J. Kowall, said his son was responding to help a convoy when
the vehicle crashed. He called his son "a hero" who "died for his country
because that is what he believed he was chosen to do."

Please pass on the prayers in the Tennessee
Wing to the family and friends of United States Army, 82nd Airborne Division,
Specialist Corey J. Kowall, in the loss of his life in combat operations in
Afghanistan. Cory's service as C/Major, Murfreesboro Composite Squadron Cadet
Commander, and as a proud soldier, showed forth his life of service to others
before self and of giving his ALL. We ask God's grace, mercy and peace be with
Cory's loved ones in this time.
Chaplain, Captain John F. Gordy, CAP Tennessee Wing Chaplain
